KIOSK

Marcus Williams, also known as M. Will, is a visual artist born in Jacksonville, FL in 1988. He has been creating art since the age of 5, developing his passion for art while attending Lake Forest elementary and LaVilla School of the Arts. After graduating from the University of Florida in 2012 with a degree in philosophy, Williams has endeavored to explore the full range of his artistic possibilities. His work has been enjoyed in gallery spaces as well as at packed nightclubs, including live art and body painting exhibitions. He has completed portraits for well-known entertainers such as Tamar Braxton, Fantasia Barrino, and DeRay Davis. He has been a featured guest artist in the Adrian Pickett gallery from 2012-2013. Williams’ work is also periodically featured in Worthy Magazine, where Williams’ serves as the art director.

Though he loves to express his creativity in many forms and experiment with various artistic methods, Williams' work predominantly consists of graphite, charcoal, and acrylic and includes a range of subject matter. His culture plays a large role in his work, which is largely a celebration of African-American life through his eyes. He achieves this at times through pop culture and historical references, often with an element of added humor. Whether abstract or representational, Williams' work is the result of much experimentation and he values the process of making art above the resulting art itself.
